Society of North American Silversmiths
Good News! I just received a notice from SNAG that they are using my piece "Ride the Pony" a working carousel on their website.
This piece is 1 1/2" x 1 1/2".
There is another pic in an earlier post.

I cut out the charm from 24 gauge copper and used Vitreous Enamel (Powdered glass) to add the design. I made the Byzantine design chain bracelet from 18 gauge aluminium jump rings.

The Lily pendant is a piece I carved in wax and had it cast in Nu-gold (Yellow Bronze). The next step is to refine the piece and have a mold made for multiple reproductions in gold or silver.
This is another new process for me. I took scrap gold and melted it down then rolled and forged it into this cuff. An Anniversary gift for my husband.

My entry for the 2009 Student Art Show is a working carousel. There is a fan knob on the bottom of the box that you can turn and the carousel, the crown and the Mystic topaz on top of the box all turn. The door knocker type rings on the side of the box is where you attach the removable multi color tourmaline chain that I'm still making.
The entire piece was made from scratch. It is by far the most difficult and intricate piece I have ever endeavored to make. There is a miniature cameo in the middle of the carousel. The box is a 1 1/2" square.

High polished stainless steel with matte finish brass circles. Inspired by Robert Lee Morris' pieces. The high polish reflects the light and the double jump rings make the earrings dance and catch the light.

Well it's here with the promise of things new.
Here in the USA it means a new president. YEAH!
It will be the 30th year that my husband and I have been together and God willing will be the 100th year that my Mother has been on this planet.
I also have plans to expand my jewelry business and to look for some galleries or maybe a museum to exhibit my Art Jewelry. I have some exciting pieces that I have been working on and some designs that I've sketched up that are receiving some interest. Fingers crossed!
I also hope to do some traveling. I have not left NYC since my leg was paralyzed. It seems it was not the only thing that got paralyzed. I closed up in many ways and fear crept into my life stopping me from doing things that were not affected by my condition. My leg became a good excuse and many would not question it. There is still things I can't do but I'm going to try to do the things I know I could do if I just tried.
I hope the new year brings all of you out there whatever it is you need to enjoy your life. Have a happy, healthy year and do something unexpected you might have fun!
